Junk Teens Junk Removal, a company that removes unwanted items and throws them out in an eco-friendly way, was started by 19-year-old Kirk and 17-year-old Jacob McKinney of Westwood.

The brothers wanted to find a way to make a positive impact on the environment, so they fashioned a trash removal service that also serves their community and the economy.

“I passed by the dump one day and was curious to explore, and what I found was amazing," Kirk said. "I kept going back and soon enough the team there were taking me on their junk removal trips. They gave me an opportunity to work and it inspired me to start my own business.”

The McKinney brothers are now using their platform to help other teenagers jumpstart their careers by giving them an opportunity to work in any capacity.

"You're with your friends, you're having fun, but you are also taking on a lot of responsibility,” said Charlie Rooney, a 17-year-old foreman and truck driver.

“I've been doing jobs by myself, managing other kids who are working, communicating with customers, helping with pricing, and more," he added. "It really has taught me how to manage time and jobs and prepared me a lot better than other jobs for my future.”

Junk Teens is also expanding their mission by building a warehouse where teenagers can work, collaborate and hangout called The Junk House.

Junk Teens also inspires millions on social media, including their more than 100,000 followers on TikTok. To see what areas Junk Teens serves or get a free quote, visit their website for more.
